Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Canada ranked one of the Top Ten Best Workplaces
Company ranked sixth among list of top 100 large and multinational companies
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Canada announced today that it has been ranked number six on the list of the 100 “Best Workplaces in Canada” by the Great Place to Work® Institute. This is the company’s fourth top-ten rating in the “Large & Multinational Companies” category since 2009. A complete list, and related stories, was released today in a special edition of The Globe and Mail.
“I am thankful for and truly inspired by our employees’ efforts to go above and beyond to give each other, our customers and our dealers exceptional experiences every day,” said Stefan Karrenbauer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Canada. “We continually strive to foster a work environment of trust, built on our company’s long-standing core values. We are proud that, once again, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services and Daimler Truck Financial, our co-brand in the trucking industry, are ranked among the ten best workplaces in Canada.”
This list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” is compiled by Great Place to Work Institute Canada. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 58-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a Great Place to Work: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. This year’s list received more than 300 nominations and more than 60,000 employees participated in the 2016 “Best Workplaces in Canada” survey.
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Canada has also received several accolades from Great Place to Work Institute for its accomplishments within the five trust-building dimensions. In 2012, it received top honors
in the pride dimension. In 2013, the company was ranked among the top five companies in the camaraderie dimension, and in 2014, was acknowledged for its results in the respect dimension. This year, the company is again being recognized for its work in the respect dimension.
“At Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, we cultivate a culture of empowerment, which gives employees a tremendous sense of pride,” said Shawna McNamee, Director of Human Resources and Administrative Services for Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Canada. “Each year, we seek input from our employees to identify opportunities to improve and invite them to actively participate in the initiatives that grow out of their feedback. This year’s results show that our efforts continue to inspire trust, engagement and camaraderie among our team.”
